Houck Transit Advertising partnered with Saint Elizabeth’s Breast Cancer Center in Lincoln, NE to design and install their full bus wrap to promote their new cancer treatment center.
After the wrap was ready to hit the road, we had a request from Saint Elizabeth’s to have the bus wrap present at their open house they were having for patients, doctors and community attendees. This is a request that we are used to and Star Tran in Lincoln, NE was more than willing to let the bus be displayed at the event. All of the coordination was taken care of, but what came next was a bit of a surprise to everyone.
During the event, the attendees grabbed markers and began writing well wishes and remembrances all over the bus. The chain reaction turned into something that was newsworthy. Members of the community who were not able to attend the event began to call the transit system to see if they could come down and sign the bus to write their well-wishes on the bus too. An additional bus signing event was scheduled where even more members of the community were able to make their mark on the bus.
This fully wrapped bus turned into more than a moving billboard for Saint Elizabeth’s to share about their new facility. It became a moving memorial within the community for both the loved ones who had been lost to cancer, as well as those who have battled and survived. Being an advertising company, we love when our clients see great results from their bus advertisements. But, we take our job a bit further and realize that the foundation of a thriving community is healthy businesses working alongside strong public transit system.
